FromSoftware's new RPG, Elden Ring, is a massive open-world game. Players begin the game in the enigmatic Lands Between, where they are tasked with reforging the eponymous Elden Ring. Epic vistas, devastating bosses, and a relentless search for Runes await in the next chapter.

To put it another way, Elden Ring has its version of the Soul in the series of games called Dark Souls. This is a form of virtual currency that can be used to level up your character or purchase new gear. As there is no limit to the number of Runes that can be lost, the threat of losing Runes by dying twice and not regaining them is always present.

There is a consumable in Elden Ring that can dramatically increase Rune acquisition for a short period of time, making it ideal for players looking to recover losses or farm Runes. For three minutes, the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot increases the amount of Runes players gain by 30%, making it an excellent choice for farming.

Where to Look for Elden Ring's Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot

Players can find Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot in abundance throughout Elden Ring, and they can also buy them from Patches in Murkwater Cave, Scenic Isle, and Volcano Manor, among other places. However, because they only last for three minutes, players will have to practice crafting them if they want to make use of them often.

Players must first purchase the Missionary's Cookbook in order to begin crafting the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot. Patches sells this cookbook, which includes the recipes for Scriptstone, Grace Mimic, and Gold-Picked Fowl Foot, for 800 Runes each. The recipes in Elden Ring's crafting menu can be accessed by purchasing the Cookbook.

Detailed Instructions for Making Elden Ring's Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot

In order to craft a Gold-Picked Fowl Foot, players will need to gather the following ingredients:

  • Rowa Fruit x three

  • A Four-Toed Fowl Foot and a Gold Firefly

Rowa Fruit can be found in most of Elden Ring's early to mid-game areas, making it the most accessible. The red-orange berries on the bushes should be enough for players to identify them from a distance. The Eagles and Guillemots that congregate on Elden Ring's cliffs may also drop Four-Toed Fowl Foot, making it an easy item to obtain. To keep the birds from fleeing, players should use ranged attacks.

The Gold Firefly is the most difficult ingredient to cultivate, as it is only found in large numbers near specific ponds. Gold Fireflies can be found in any body of water near a Minor Erdtree, but the following are the best spots to go Gold Firefly farming:

  • Weeping Peninsula's Weeping Pond has 11 dead fish within it.

  • A pond south of the Altus Plateau's Road of Iniquity Side Path Site of Grace is home to eight ducks of this species. To get to the pond, cross the bridge and use a spirit spring.

  • There are nine of them in a pond southeast of Limgrave's Mistwood Outskirts Site of Grace.

  • Elden Ring players can make as much Gold-Picked Fowl Foot as they like with these ingredients.
