Mounts in Diablo IV cannot be accessed until the campaign has been completed
The ability for players to ride mounts has been a subject of speculation ever since Blizzard announced Diablo IV in 2019, which took place in 2019. This would be a first for the series, and including such a cool feature seemed like a good idea. But now, Blizzard has revealed that in its most recent loot-filled Diablo adventure, you won't actually be able to ride a mount until you've completed the mission to save the world. This news was announced by Blizzard. I suppose that only heroes should ride horses. In November 2019, Blizzard made the announcement that Diablo IV would be coming out, and even back then, the developer was already talking about how expansive the new game's world would be and how mounts would assist players in navigating it. When we did our preview back then, we made sure to mention mounts. And mounts were hinted at once more in the most recent beta, but players were unable to actually use them because the playable test was only a small portion of the complete action-RPG. In a nutshell, the mounts for Diablo IV have been known about for some time, and they appear to be pretty cool! However, Blizzard has recently confirmed that you won't be able to ride any horses (or other mounts, for that matter) right away in Diablo IV.
This news comes as a bit of a letdown for fans of the series. Blizzard Entertainment, the developer of the Diablo video game series, provided new details about the character and ability customization options that will be available to players in a blog post published on April 24. And when talking about mounts, Blizzard revealed that in order to gain access to a rideable friend, you will need to first complete the main questline with at least one of your characters. Once you have unlocked a mount with one character, you will be able to use it with all of your other characters in all of the other game modes. This is a very convenient feature. And when you finally do get your hands on that sweet new mount, you'll be able to personalize it however you like by equipping it with a variety of armor and trophies. Regarding the reasoning behind this decision, my best guess is that Blizzard does not want players to rush through the world and campaign that it labored over for many years creating.
At the very least, not when you first start playing Diablo IV. Blizzard will eventually give you a mount in order to make future playthroughs with different characters go more quickly once you have completed everything in the game and rescued the world from demons or whatever else was threatening it. This is understandable, but I can't help but wonder whether or not Blizzard plans to hand out mounts to players sooner at some point in the future, perhaps after a few years or so. We won't know anything until further notice.
Kotaku attempted to contact Blizzard for a comment but was unsuccessful.
There will be a return of fan favorites in Diablo IV
The post on the Blizzard blog also included additional information on loot, including an explanation of how legendary items that you do not pick up because of a disconnection error or because you don't spot them will be added to a special section of your stash
(Because this unique storage area will be depleted very quickly, players will need to check on it on a consistent basis
)The development team has confirmed that some iconic items from previous installments of the Diablo series, such as the Windforce, will also have a chance to drop in the new game
Blizzard also discussed how respeccing will operate, saying that while it will not be as open and free as the endgame system in Diablo III, it will be less rigid than the way it was implemented in the player favorite Diablo II.
On June 6, 2023, Diablo IV will be released for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and personal computers. Blizzard has recently confirmed that another beta test will take place in May. For those who simply cannot wait, this news comes as good news.
